The Shepherd-in-charge of the Celestial Church of Christ International Headquarters, Ketu, Olatosho Oshoffa, has condemned the decision of the pastor of one of its parishes in Lagos state who invited Fuji singer, Pasuma, and street-hop artiste, Portable, to perform at its praise night scheduled to hold in December.
A flyer released by the church announcing Pasuma and Portable as guest artists at its praise/Ankara night generated mixed reactions on social media earlier today.
While some Nigerians did not see anything wrong in the church’s decision, others argued that it is unethical for the church to invite secular artists to perform inside a church. They argued that a Muslim like Pasuma should not be allowed into a church to perform. Read here.
Reacting via his Facebook page, Oshoffa stated he had spoken to the cleric in charge of the parish and that the artists would no longer grace the occasion.
Sharing the poster on his Facebook page, he wrote,
“Dear Celestians, I have just spoken to the Shepherd in Charge of the above Parish at length. He has promised to make amendments to the posters. He has promised that the said contested artists would NOT come for the Nights. There is No doubt the said poster is very CONDEMNABLE. God bless CCC. Amen.”
