Boxing’s WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight world champion, Oleksandr Usyk has now officially signed a one-year professional football contract with Ukrainian Premier League team FC Polissya.
Usyk came on as a substitute for the club in a friendly last year and could now play for them professionally.
The club announced on Wednesday, July 19 that Usyk has signed an official pro contract and will own the number 17 shirt for the upcoming season.
In February 2022, Usyk came on as a substitute for Polissya during their winter break 2-1 friendly win over Veres.
At the time, Polissya were in the second-tier of Ukrainian football, but the team have since won promotion to the top flight.
